 | SoftPage is a hosted application, meaning that all the content images and files are hosting on the SoftPage Servers. You will be required to download an install a small application file that will look and act much like a normal windows program. This application is the SoftPage Desktop Application. This serves as a central tool for all editing and managing SoftPage. This is also where you would go if you would like to create a new web site. The application installs to your program files directory so its easily accessible without any confusing back-end "admin areas". If you want to start editing a site, or you want to manage your account settings or if you want to make a new site, launch the SoftPage Desktop Application.
Requirements for SoftPage
You have to have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher installed on your PC (Sorry, no Mac / Linux versions) and you must be connected to the Internet. (The faster, the better).
Hint
Mac users can use VirtialBox to run windows, then have the ability to use SoftPage without any problems.
(VirtualBox is FREE)
Downloading the SoftPage Installer
The installer file is located on our server and can be downloaded to your PC by clicking the link below:
Hint
The SoftPage Installer is always available and can be downloaded from anywhere in the world without the need for any special codes or instructions. If you are away from the office or not using the same computer as you usually do, you can install SoftPage onto any computer or laptop and simply log into your site. Because all the content is hosted, all your pages will be available for you to edit.
Installing the SoftPage Desktop Application
Once you have downloaded the Zipped installer file, unzip it to a folder that you know, like your My Documents folder. Double click on the SoftPage Installer.exe file that is extracted from the zip file.
The Installer Will take you through a very simple installation process. You can use the default settings for all sections.

Starting SoftPage
Once you have downloaded and installed the SoftPage Installer to your computer, double click on the SoftPage icon that should be on your desktop to start SoftPage (Or Start>Program Files>SoftPage>SoftPage 2007). If you have not logged into a site before, you will be faced with the Create a SoftPage Account wizard. If you have logged into a site before, you will be prompted to enter your web site address, username and password.

Above is the screen that displays if you have not logged into a site before.
The first option is to close the window so that you can log into your existing site. This is for when you have cleared your cookies, re-installed your system or have installed SoftPage on another computer.
Option 2 is the option that most first-time members would select. This will then take you through a very simple wizard that will help you to create your own web site. Once complete the window can be closed so that you can enter your login details that you would have just created. If you are not sure of these details, check your email for our confirmation emails.
