 | Once you have logged into SoftPage you will be faced with a screen much like the one below. This is the SoftPage Application Interface.
For the sake of this documentation we will presume that you have editing abilities. There will be more on the User Access Control system at a later stage. User Access Control can disable certain items according to permission settings on a per user basis. This allows you to give access to your staff and other 3rd parties without worrying that information will get accessed or changed. Although SoftPage is setup with a the default Administrator account - it's usually a good idea to add your own loggin account for accessing SoftPage. This way you know its only you that is accessing the site with your account.

You will be faced with a PopUp Menu (top right) that will display some of the common activities in SoftPage. These will be to:
- create a new page by selecting from one of the page types
- open a page from the list of previously edited pages
- use one of the "I want to wizards"
- Log off or switch user
- Get to this online help document
This PopUp menu is only available temporarily, so as soon as you select an option it will disappear. If you click anywhere on the screen it will disappear too. To get it back simply click the round SoftPage logo in the top left of the Application Window.
Looking again at the area on the top right of the Application Window, you will see the Quick Links Tool Bar. This tool bar only contains the very basic tools, however is visible all of the time. So actions like New Page, Open Page and Help can be performed at any time.
The main blue area, called the Application Background, is where documents will load when you open them. This is similar to the way other Windows Applications work.
On the right hand side are the Management Modules. This area contains administrative options and Management Windows for different sections of SoftPage. Because SoftPage is not only an HTML editor, these Modules or Managers interact with elements of SoftPage, like the Contact Manager will interact with contact forms that you may have in the editor. This bar hides its self away once you select an option. Moving your cursor over to the right of the window exposes the menu again.
Each one of these Modules will be explored in greater detail in this document.
