In this section we explain how to save a page correctly. We will also look at good file management.

Saving a page
Well i think just a bout every computer user in the world has saved a file at some point in their lives so I'm not going to explain too much here other then SoftPage works very much like any other computer program. What you may be wondering is:

Where is the file saving?
As previously mentioned, SoftPage is an online application, that is all the pages, images, and files are stores online. So when you click the save icon (or Ctrl+Shift+s), the Save As dialog offers you a location on the server. You cannot save the file from SoftPage onto your computer. If you where wondering, the save icon is in the edit tab, and it looks like this:

Good file management
Pages can build up quite quickly, so be careful that you work in an organised fashion. Mainly because its VERY difficult to move pages around once the pages are saved, especially when you consider that every page that links to that pages will need to be opened and changed. Your Web Site administrator will probably have set up the folders that you can save you pages into.

The Save As window
When you click the Save As icon (  ). SoftPage will bring up the Save As window, that will make it easy for you to save the file and also keep some of the settings from one page to the next.

Enter the file name In the first field. The S.E.O. tick will prevent you from typing a file name that is not compatible with S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimisation).

The Library page tick will change the system to save the file as a Library page. (More on this later.)

The Page Title is the text that appears in the blue are at the top of your browser. (In Windows Vista, this has been moved to the the Tab)

Page Folder is the folder on the server where you will save the file. Click the Browse... button to show the available folders.

For the most part you will be using either Default Page type or Newsletter. So for the moment, make sure its on Default Page.
